The Swedish-American Historical Society is a non-profit organization founded in 1948 to "Record the Achievements of the Swedish Pioneers." After fifty years, the Society has grown and today is devoted to the study of the Swedish emigration and the history and culture of the Swedes in North America, through research, publications, programs, and archives. The Society publishes and sponsors books on the history and meaning of the Swedish presence in America. Over 25 publications are available for order through this web site. We also publish a quarterly journal which is the leading academic publication in the U.S. documenting and interpreting the Swedish-American presence in North America. All members of the Society receive The Swedish-American Historical Quarterly. For more information about becoming a member of The Swedish-American Historical Society, click on the "Membership" button, print out the form and mail it to the Society. |
